On Saturday, September 15, 2021, at 3:00 p.m., the PRORA-CENTER will open its new temporary exhibition “Umbruch Ost. Living Environments in Change” of the Federal Foundation for Reappraisal and the Federal Government Commissioner for Eastern Europe in its rooms. The historian and publicist Stefan Wolle, responsible for the conception and texts of the presentation, will introduce the exhibition.
The exhibition sheds light on 30 years of German unity. The focus is on the East Germans’ experiences of upheaval. On 23 panels with pictures and texts, the expectations and confidence that East Germans had associated with reunification are documented. With this presentation, the PRORA-CENTER would like to encourage a dialogue about the history of German unification since 1990.
